Taking the Vaccine part 2

Updated: Mar 5, 2021

Life is Risky…

I joined the military some years ago during the height of a war. A few years later I raised my hand and volunteered to deploy. During that deployment I would sustain an injury that would alter the rest my life.

My name is, Alexander Foxworth, and that was before I graduated college. That was before I had a beautiful health family. That was also before I started my own business. More importantly, this was long before I discovered what I would become.

I said, “what I would become,” rather than who I would become, because fundamentally I have always been a lion. However, after years of fighting my way through physical limitations, refocusing my plans to achieve higher more lofty goals, and taking careful notice to cherish every given opportunity, my status changed. It was clear that what I became was liking to more than just a mere lion. I was yet again a provider, a protector, a leader…. I was a King!

In this example I embellish only a bit, but I do so to highlight the whole risk versus reward phenomenon. When I stated that an injury would alter the rest of my life, surely you assumed the worst, but quite the opposite.

You see, Reader, as a nurse my bedside manner dictates that I share a personal moment of vulnerability before asking you to trust the process. The truth is, we are all skeptical for one reason or the other. However, there are countless infections, alignments, and conditions that we ignore every day because we know the quality and power of medical science. Brain surgery, chicken pots, and medication therapy for conditions like hypertension are just to name a few. These recognized sciences were once new and cutting edge as well, but today they are all considered routine.

We are now at the height of the war against COVID, and now you are being asked to volunteer. Who are you…, what will you become…, are you just a mere lion?
